EastSide Learning are holding a Children's Reading Fair on Friday 24th March from 1-5pm in Skainos, Newtownards Road.
Libraries NI has launched Rub-a-Dub Hub, a free online resource with tools, tips and fun activities to enable parents and carers to support preschool children, with confidence, during the early stages of reading and dealing with emotions.
Rub-a-Dub Hub was developed by Libraries NI and funded by Carnegie Trust UK as part of the Carnegie Library Lab project.
Representatives from the Belfast Area Partnerships including East Belfast Partnership's Maggie Andrews met with Education Minister, John O'Dowd to discuss the success of the recently completed Community Education Initiatives Programme, supported by Department of Education. The Minister encouraged the group to continue building on the work completed so far and offered his full support to see it
It was billed as the ‘Start of something great’ and it was, as school principals, local politicians, community groups and government attended the launch of Eastside Learning. The EastSide Learning Partnership unveiled their plans to bring schools and communities together over the next 10 years for the benefit of children and young people in the area.
