Healthy Play Day 27th June 2018

Healthy Play Day

Wednesday 27th June

Victoria Park

EastSide Early Years Network hosted a fun-filled 'outdoor play' event on a gloriously sunny day in Victoria Park this June.

Delivered with support from Connswater Community Greenway, EastSide Learning and Belfast City Council, the event was a fantastic opportunity for pre-school children to take part in a range of healthy outdoor activities.

A great day was had by all, and our thanks go to the hard work of all who provided the activities, which included:

Dancing!

Jump Jiggle 'n Jive got legs pumping and arms waving to the beat. The heat wasn't enough to slow these party animals!

Animals!

The amazing Debbie Doolittle brought along some little pals from her Wildlife Rescue Centre. The standout hit was Linnie, a gorgeous wee fox who loved all the cuddles and attention!

Exercise!

With a colourful Toddler Gym, Babynastix and Toddler Yoga, everyone enjoyed fun and engaging exercise sessions.

Nature!

Already spoiled by the lush surroundings of Victoria Park (can many parks look quite this gorgeous on a summer's day?), Forest School leaders were on hand to host some utterly absorbing nature workshops.

All in all it was a fantastic day, thanks to the enthusiasm of our activity leaders, parents, care-givers and of course the children themselves! Big thanks also to Tescos for providing fresh fruit and bottled water on what was a real scorcher of a day!

This event couldn't have happened without the staff from East Belfast SureStart, funding from Urban Villages, Connswater Community Greenway and the EastSide Learning Community Education Project funded by TEO.
