Children's Reading Fair 9th March

 

EastSide Learning are hosting our annual Children's Reading Fair 9th March 1pm -5pm at Skainos.

During this free event, parents can access information and advice on how to support their child's reading while your children can enjoy activities such as storytelling, drama workshops, iPad fun, rhyme time, face painting and literacy themed dress up.

We will also be hosting another Giving Library where you can take away some books to enjoy with the family at home. 

The Reading Fair has become an annual event in east Belfast as part of the Belfast Learning Festival and it has been really successful with contributions being made by a range of agencies including, Dept. of Education, Libraries NI, Museums NI, Save the Children and the Book Trust.

 

At this event expect to find…….

 

Storytelling from Libraries NI.

iPad reading and educational app station. This will be supervised by local teachers who can provide advice to parents.

Drama Sessions for children to get involved in.

Literacy themed games and activities.

Face painting

Book character fancy dress.

Speech and Language activities from east Belfast SureStart.

Giving Library. Read with your children in our cosy corner and also take away a book or two to keep at home.

Information stands with advice and resources for parents.
